Journal's description  
Financial Theory and Practice is double blind peer-reviewed scientific journal published by the Institute of Public Finance. The journal publishes scientific articles in the field of public sector economics, but also welcomes submissions of applied and theoretical research articles on a broader set of economic topics, such as economic growth and development, the role of institutions, the transition to the market economy and EU integration. Empirical analysis is preferably related, but not limited, to the experience of countries in Central and Eastern Europe and Southeast Europe.

The journal is co-financed by the Ministry of Science, Education and Sport of the Republic of Croatia which assessed it as the best journal in the area of social science in Croatia in 2006. During the assessment, the Publishing Commission of the Ministry paid particular attention to the scientific or scholarly content of the journal, the effectiveness of the reviewing procedure, the accessibility and visibility of the journal to the scientific community, and the editorial work on the journal.
