Journal's description
Journal of Proteins and Proteomics (JPP) - A Journal of the Proteomics Society, India (PSI)
(ISSN No. 0975-8151) is a protein-centric journal envisaged and established to serve the community of scientists worldwide who work in the area of protein science and proteomics. This non-profit journal was envisioned in 2010 to create a platform to share novel findings, to erect hypothesis for future introspection, to put together available knowledge in literature in a comprehensive manner in areas related to “protein science and proteomics”. Journal of Proteins and Proteomics (JPP), administered by Proteomics Society, India (PSI), is a peer reviewed international journal envisaged to serve the world wide community of researchers and teachers dealing with the challenges of proteins and proteomics research resulting in an improved understanding of protein science in general. It is published quarterly from India by International Science Press, Serials Publications, Delhi and Proteomics Society, India (PSI).The aim is also to supplement the regular issues with special issues annually in selected, relevant topics of protein science. The journal has an online presence at http://www.jpp.org.in. JPP publishes research articles, reviews, essays, reports, letter communications, research surveys, teaching materials, in memoriam, recollections, profiles of scientists, methodology, trends and tips, intellectual property related articles etc. with focus on Protein Science and Proteomics.
The journal publishes wide array of articles at no cost, whatsoever, to authors and provides free access to all articles through its website. Hard copies of the journal are available at nominal subscription charges. Journal Articles by JPP is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (https://creativecommons.org). Under the CC BY-SA license, JPP allows free access to its publications and one can copy, use, analyze, perform and present information publicly and produce and distribute derivative literature in any digital medium for any reasonable purposes, subject to appropriate acknowledgement of the authors and the journal with a link to the license. The journal allows rights to re-produce printed copies in accordance to the Creative Commons policies. We cater to the needs of both authors and readers in a unique way – mainly by ensuring flow of information and knowledge in a priceless (literally meaning) way.
We foresee JPP to be a premiere journal in the area of proteins and proteomics in the next 4-5 years. Our vision, our goal, our tiring efforts, we believe, will ensure the rise of this dedicated journal. Our vision also includes efforts to popularize protein scientists, to immortalize their achievements and contributions through the pages of JPP in a section aptly entitled “Soldiers of Science”. A selfless editorial team and several well wishers who work behind the curtains ensure that JPP serves the protein science community with no string attached.
JPP has been abstracted, indexed, tracked and covered in the following databases: SJIF (1.699 for 2014; 2.93 for 2015; 6.425 for 2016), CAS database, Index Copernicus International (ICV 2016 = 77.52), DOAJ, Google Scholar, Research Bible, Indian Science Abstracts, CAP International (UK), WorldCat, NAAS Database, India (Score: 4.55),Universal Impact Factor (UI Factor), Indian Science.
